Collection: Helping Hands Grant
People living with cancer are warriors. Cancer survivors are warriors. Even warriors need a helping hand sometimes.
Starting in late February 2025, The Triple B Community will be accepting grant proposals to provide assistance to our local cancer warriors that need a helping hand. Maybe it's a household bill that needs to be paid; maybe it's some special diet food items that are not budget friendly; or maybe it's a special outing for a child who has spent too much time indoors with cancer treatment. Let us know how we might be able to lend a helping hand to a cancer warrior. Each grant provides assistance up to $500 for non-medical issues.
We want to make this process as easy as possible for our recipients; here are a few requirements:
- The recipient must live in Hampton Roads, be a current cancer patient or cancer survivor and have encountered an unexpected hardship within the past 3 months.
- The recipient cannot have received a Helping Hands Grant from The Triple B Community within the last year.
- The recipient must be nominated by someone who is in the network of supporters of The Triple B Community. For example: A board member, an event committee member, a community sponsor, or someone who is affiliated with a person in one of these roles. If you do not know someone in one of these roles but wish to nominate someone, please contact us directly. Individuals may NOT nominate themselves as a recipient.
- If the recipient is approved, they must submit the bills of the requested covered expenses to The Triple B Community organization so that we can pay the bill directly. In situations where this is not possible, we will work with the recipient directly to identify the best method for covering the requested expenses.
